Miles for Matthew
We have been participating in this race since it's inception in honor of our son Matthew. Matthew was born June 12, 2007 with a terminal genetic defect called Trisomy 13. He spent the first 9 days of his life in the NICU at Christ Hospital before coming home. Matthew passed away only 2 days later. After this heartbreaking and tragic time we decided that we wanted to do something in Matthew's honor to help others going through similar situations and the Running for Hope 5k was a perfect fit. All donations benefit the Ronald McDonald House in Oak Lawn and the Childrens Hospital, both of which assist families dealing with situations exactly like ours. Please help us remember Matthew and commemorate our 12th consecutive year at the Running for Hope 5k by joining us for the Run/Walk and by making a tax deductible donation that will truly help comfort families facing extremely difficult and painful situations. Rikki, Chris and Maggie thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
